Pacey privacy policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Pacey is a calculator app for runners, cyclists, swimmers, triathletes and Hyrox athletes. It's made by Dale, trading as Pacey, in Australia. This policy explains what Pacey collects and why. The short version: the numbers you type stay on your phone, the app counts how it's used without knowing who you are, and anything you send through the Feedback tab or by email comes to us. To get in touch, email support@pacey.au or use the Feedback tab in the app.

What stays on your phone

The distances, paces, speeds and times you type are saved on your phone, so each calculator shows what you last entered when you come back to it. They're never sent anywhere. Your Metric or Imperial choice is saved on your phone too; which one is in use, and which distance or race buttons you tap, are part of the usage counts below. Feedback you're writing, and any feedback or usage counts waiting for a connection, are also kept on your phone while they wait to be sent (if a very large number pile up, the oldest are dropped). Deleting the app deletes everything it saved on your phone.

Usage counts

To decide what to improve, Pacey counts how it's used: when the app is opened, or returned to after five minutes or more away, which calculators are opened, which distance or race buttons are tapped, which kinds of value you type (a pace or speed, or a time, but never the value itself), and when the units are switched. Opens, returns and unit switches also record whether Metric or Imperial is in use. Sending feedback isn't counted: the feedback itself is the record of it, and we never match usage counts with feedback.

The counts are stored with Supabase, a database service, on its servers in Australia (Sydney), in the same database as feedback. Only Pacey can read them. Like any web service, Supabase logs each request the app makes, including the internet address it came from and the approximate location worked out from it (such as country and city), to run and protect its service. We can see those logs for 7 days, but don't use them to work out who or where anyone is, and the address isn't stored with the counts. Supabase keeps its logs under its own terms, and they may be held outside Australia. We'll delete individual counts once they're 24 months old and keep only totals, such as how many people used Pacey each month.

Feedback you send us

If you use the Feedback tab in the app, we receive:

If you're offline, feedback waits on your phone and is sent the next time you open Pacey, or come back to it, with a connection. Feedback is stored with Supabase, a database service, on its servers in Australia (Sydney), and sending it is logged by Supabase in the same way as the usage counts. Only Pacey can read it. We use it to fix problems and improve the app, and your email address only to reply to you. We keep feedback for as long as it's useful for that, and delete it on request; copies in Supabase's daily backups are gone within 7 days after that.

Emails you send us

If you email support@pacey.au, we receive your email address and any name it shows, your message and anything you attach, along with the details every email carries, such as when it was sent and which email service sent it. Pacey's email is provided by Apple's iCloud Mail, so emails and our replies are stored there, which may be outside Australia. We use them to reply to you and to fix or improve Pacey, keep them and our replies for as long as that's useful, and delete both on request.

Pacey's website

Pacey's website, pacey.au, where this policy is published, doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads. It's hosted by Vercel. This policy's earlier address, on GitHub, now forwards here, and GitHub still serves that forwarding page. Like any website host, Vercel and GitHub log visits (such as the internet address a visit came from, the approximate location worked out from it, and the browser) to run and protect their service, under their own terms, and those logs may be held outside Australia.

Apple and TestFlight

If you test Pacey through Apple's TestFlight, Apple automatically shares crash reports and basic usage information with us, such as how often the test version was used, crashes, and your device model and iOS version, plus any feedback or screenshots you send through TestFlight. If you joined through an email invitation, that includes your name and email address; if you joined through a public link, it doesn't. Once Pacey is on the App Store, Apple shares crash reports and overall usage statistics with us only if you've turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone's settings. Apple's own privacy policy covers how Apple handles this. To have your TestFlight feedback or tester record deleted, email us or send a message through the Feedback tab and we'll delete it in App Store Connect.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share your information, show ads, track you across other apps or websites, or ask for your name, location, contacts or health data.

Children

Pacey isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them beyond the usage counts above.
